Hello Church family and friends in the community,
First, I’d like to thank you for the support of this program and for trusting me with this opportunity. This is an update on what is happening in the youth ministry.
We sat down and asked the youth members to come up with some ideas to fundraise for the many different activities the church would like to provide for them. They have come up with plenty of things to do, from car washes to garage sales and other ideas that I feel, if we can get behind them to motivate them, we can accomplish great things.
Pastor Will and I are going to be ordering some new curriculum for the Sunday school group. We have been reading in Genesis and are now going to get a study guide to help us understand it in a better way.
We have also talked about different ways we can outreach into our community, and I tell you what—these young men and women have really come through with some great ideas. I would also like to see if we can get a group together and possibly volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock, where we would provide prayer support and a meal, and also have a chance to fellowship with those in need.
I pray that the youth ministry will grow and make a positive impact on those in this town, and also equip this coming generation with the Word and promises of God, that they will come to see His presence in their lives and lead generations to come to the mercy and grace our Heavenly Father offers through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Sincerely,
Your brother in Christ,
Anthony Castro
